$250 Uniform Allowance

Allow officers to use their $250 uniform Allowance at OBC. OBC is a great opportunity for officers to try on uniforms and ensure they get the right fit. They could bring cash/credit and combine it with the $250 to purchase as many uniforms as possible with the right fit.

    One word: inventory. I agree that this would be a good idea in theory, but that would mean the USPHS would have to get into the uniform distribution business, which requires staff, a large uniform inventory, storage, fitting and tailoring, collecting money, etc. We let the Navy and private firms take on this function for good reason; we don't have the $$ and personnel. You'll eventually understand this is a vastly underfunded operation.
