Excellent idea! We need to bring our uniform back.
Please bring it back!
I agree. We need our own uniform if we are ever going to stand out and stop looking like USN.
I agree. The army when they phased out the Dress Greens started to use the Dress Blues for there class A and B uniforms. The awards on the Class B (without coat) shirt makes the uniform look so sharp and when in an office setting most officers take the coat off.
I guess Im going to throw a wrench into this party...
Why revert back to something that is deemed obsolete?Weve already established that we as a service are unable to sustain a unique uniform identity, due to the lack of resources and ability to afford uniquely created uniforms for a force of 6000 officers. If uniqueness is what we are striving for, then by all means lets change POLICY and adopt a mix-bag of uniforms and create our eclectic version of a uniform. But I think it is inappropriate to adopt an image (USN, due marine hospital history) and do with it as we please. In other words we keep some, but keep other phased out uniforms, it is clear that have made every effort to follow suit to the USN..I applaud this effort, b/c it has for once showed a streamlined effort to create ONE image. As it is its difficult to explain that were not Navy, but at least sets the stage to explain further..."Were not the Navy but we are and we wear Navy uniforms because...", instead well be explaining we are not USCG, were not police mall cops, security guards, were not from another country(this is the one I received from other DoD). Lets simplify our service not complicate it.
